Project: POP Allston

Role: Project Management, Marketing Director, Social Art Direction

Type: Experiential, Event, Social

Orchard teamed up with Allston Village Main Streets and the City of Boston to turn a vacant and soon to be demolished building into the country’s first free indoor community based public skatepark. The space also hosted a pop up vintage market, yoga studio, and was home to various community events and activations. Programming was provided and managed by myself and the Orchard team. Buildout was designed and managed by Orchard and the skatepark was staffed at no cost to users by Orchard employees. Cross-promotions included partnerships with Converse, PBR, and local businesses like Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Whole Heart Provisions.

Additionally, the space was used to host skate lessons for underprivileged community youth and provided a safe & inclusive space for beginners.

POP Allston was covered by Metro Boston, Boston.com, and the Boston Globe.
